Charles E. Shoemaker, Inc. traces its roots back to the early 1900s, evolving through predecessor firms such as William T. Muldrew and Haggerty and Hagan, Inc. The current corporate structure has been in place since 1965, establishing us as a longstanding leader in land surveying and civil engineering in Pennsylvania.


Our 4,700-square-foot facility in Montgomeryville is home to our team of 13 dedicated professionals, including engineers, surveyors, CAD specialists, technicians, and support staff. We routinely deploy three survey crews, ensuring precision and efficiency in all our projects.
 We are proud members of various professional organizations, with some team members having held state offices in the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors. Our commitment to continuing education ensures our staff remains at the forefront of industry developments, regularly serving as lecturers and instructors at professional seminars and conferences.


Charles E. Keith Houser, P.L.S.

President

With 30 years of surveying experience, Keith Houser has been a key part of Charles E. Shoemaker, Inc. since 1994. Licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor in 2022, Keith brings extensive expertise in residential, commercial, and institutional boundary and layout surveys. His recent projects include managing the survey layout of large-scale subdivisions and commercial developments across Bucks and Montgomery counties. As president of the firm, Keith continues to lead with a commitment to excellence, drawing on his deep knowledge of the industry and his leadership experience in both fieldwork and office management.

Chad W. Brensinger, P.E., LEED® AP

Vice President

Chad Brensinger has been a vital part of Charles E. Shoemaker, Inc. since 2002, following his graduation from Lehigh University with a focus in hydrology. Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, Chad also holds LEED accreditation, showcasing his dedication to sustainable building practices. Specializing in stormwater management and erosion control design, he brings extensive experience in civil engineering, particularly on challenging sites like retail complexes and small residential projects. Chad’s expertise spans zoning, grading, and sewer design, with a focus on delivering efficient, environmentally conscious solutions that meet today’s rigorous stormwater requirements.
